Fleet software for Irish van fleets
Dispatch, CVRT expiry reminders, vehicle photo records, and quote-to-invoice — built for Irish operations running 2–50 vans, billed in euro.
Why do Irish van fleets pick Smart Strix?
Because the recurring pain of running vans in Ireland is calendar-shaped. Every goods vehicle — light vans included — needs its CVRT annually from the first anniversary of registration, insurance and tax renew on their own cycles, and driver licences and certificates expire quietly in a drawer. Miss one date and a revenue-earning van is off the road or, worse, stopped at a checkpoint without a valid Certificate of Roadworthiness. Smart Strix puts every expiry across the fleet into a single view with alerts ahead of time, then wraps the rest of the operation around it: jobs dispatched from a drag-and-drop board, drivers on iOS/Android apps updating status and capturing proof-of-delivery photos, live tracking from the driver's phone with nothing fitted to the van, and completed work flowing to quotes, invoices, and your accounts package.
There's also the checking culture. The RSA has pushed walkaround checks hard for commercial drivers, and the discipline is the same one the UK's DVSA formalised — our walkaround check list guide, including its printable template, is the practical parallel Irish fleets can adopt as-is. Drivers photograph the van at check-in and check-out in Smart Strix, so condition evidence accumulates daily rather than annually.
What are the honest limits for Irish operators?
- No tachograph support. Vans over 3.5 tonnes — and, since 1 July 2026, 2.5–3.5 tonne vans on international hire-or-reward work — need dedicated tachograph equipment and analysis tools. Smart Strix doesn't record or read tacho data.
- CVRT reminders, not CVRT testing. The platform tracks certificate expiries and stores the documents; the test itself happens at an authorised centre.
- No fitted hardware. Tracking runs from the driver's phone — an advantage for light fleets, a limitation if you want engine-level telematics.
- Checklists are photographic, not itemised. Check-in/check-out with photos and inspection due dates, rather than a tick-box DVSA-style form inside the app.
